Early Career Researchers

In this section, discover practical information, guidance and resources for early career researchers (ECRs) from all disciplines, following each stage of your research progression.

At ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ, ECR is defined as staff on research-only contracts at grades 6-8, broadly encompassing research assistants, postdoctoral researchers and research fellows. 

Here at the Sussex Researcher School, we are dedicated to supporting the professional development of our ECRs. Our ECR development team strives to support ECRs throughout their time at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ, continually advocating for inproved development and employment conditions for ECRs across the University.
