Corruption Case Studies (962M9)

Spring teaching

The aim of this module is to enable you to apply the skills and knowledge you have obtained from the whole course to analyse a case of corruption.

You'll focus on a specific case in an organisation, government or other setting. The module will guide you step-by-step through the process of analysing a case of corruption, using open source intelligence (OSINT) to applying academic theory to actual cases, as well as how case studies are used by campaigners and policy makers.

You'll select a case study of your choice to analyse, in consultation with the module tutor.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2025/26. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
