Dissertation (Anthropology) (841L6)

45 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Summer teaching

This module provides you with the opportunity to complete, under expert supervision, an independent extended piece of research and writing on a topic of your choosing relevant to the MA/MSc programme themes.

The dissertation will be 10,000 words in length and may involve either desk-based research based on secondary data sources or original empirical study involving primary data collection.

In preparation for their dissertation, as part of the separate research skills module, you will receive training in research methods, dissertation planning and writing and prepare a research outline.

You are allocated a dissertation supervisor, who will help you prepare for your research, develop your problematic and supervise your independent research and writing through four one-on-one supervisions.
