Theoretical Particle Physics

Welcome

This is the home page of the Theoretical Particle Physics group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ.

Our research deals with questions regarding the fundamental constituents of nature and their interactions, such as: What is the origin of the masses of the known elementary particles? What is the quantum theory of gravitation? How did an asymmetry between matter and antimatter develop in the early universe? How can we test these ideas at experiments, such as the Large Hadron Collider, or the Planck Satellite?

We have close ties with both the Experimental Particle Physics group as well as the Astronomy Centre here in Sussex. We are a member of the the , including particle theory and experimental groups at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), Royal Holloway,  Queen Mary, University of London, Kings College London and Southampton University.

Expressions of interest are welcome for applications to UKRI

The University is committed to equality and valuing diversity, and applications are particularly welcomed from under-represented groups in academic posts in STEM subjects.
