Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll examine key business functions, including marketing, human resources and accounting & finance.

Learning focuses on the principles and core concepts of each function, with an emphasis on applying them to contemporary business practices. Topics include:

  • developments in digital and social media marketing
  • diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

You’ll apply these concepts through business case studies, both in weekly sessions and the final assessment.

Teaching is delivered through interactive lectures and seminars, creating an inclusive learning environment with diverse activities. Alongside building knowledge, you’ll develop transferable skills such as:

  • personal confidence
  • teamwork and collaboration
  • self-management
  • independent learning.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
