Biological Psychology

Meet our diverse team of experts investigating the neural and behavioural foundations of experience across species.

Our research and teaching encompass areas such as behavioural neuroscience, cognition, mental health, and development. We study topics like neurovascular coupling, addiction, animal behaviour, aging, adolescent brain development, working practices and well-being, and learning and memory processes. The group also explores social cognition, motivation, the evolution of language, taste, appetite, and feeding behaviour, often using non-human animal models and comparative psychology approaches. Focusing on the intersection of behaviour, evolution, and brain function, we aim to deepen the understanding of complex biological processes.
