Biography

I completed my doctoral studies under the supervision of Professor Alan Dalton. My thesis, 'Electrical and thermal properties of graphene nanosheet networks', investigated structure-property relationships in printed nanosheet systems. Graphene-based inks were developed with record-high electrical conductivity approaching the performance of metal-based inks, with scope to find use in sustainable printed electronics applications. Furthermore, thermoelectric energy capture was explored as a proof-of-concept, demonstrating the applicability of 2D material systems to multifunctional and low form factor devices.

As a Research Fellow in 2D Materials, I lead a project to support a local SME to develop their carbon-nagative structural material towards EMI shielding applications. Additionally, I supported investigations into nanomaterial-based metasurface solutions to mitigate the adverse impacts of offshore windfarms.

Since July 2023, I have been employed as a Technologist at Surrey Nanosystems Ltd, developing ultra-black Vantablack coatings towards stray light suppression in automotive and aerospace applications.
