Collection Description
David Daiches was the first Professor of English at the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ. He was appointed in 1961 and remained until 1977. Both before, during, and after his time at the University he published widely on the subject of English and Scottish literature, poetry, and culture.
The collection contains manuscript, typescript, and printed papers, correspondence, and memoranda, which relate to the early history of the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ, and Daiches' connections with the institution. The papers deal mainly with academic affairs, and cover the period 1961 to 1977.
The collection is owned by the University, which retains much of the copyright.
