Elements Essentials Workshops

We offer a range of online workshops on Elements. See our programme below and sign up for an upcoming session.

  • Elements Essentials: Profile

Is your staff profile up-to-date? This 45-minute workshop will explain how Elements is used to host your ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ staff profile, capturing information on both your teaching and research interests, linking to your publications and information about your professional and teaching activities.

  • Elements Essentials: Impact

How are you planning to capture evidence of your research impact? This workshop will explore how the new Elements impact module can be used to plan for and capture aspects of your research impact. Opportunities will be provided for participants to ask questions based on their own experience.

  • Elements Essentials: Reports

This workshop will cover the Basic Reporting function within Elements.  It will demonstrate how reports can be used to extract information on publications, profiles, teaching and professional activities. Please note this workshop will focus on the reporting functions available within Elements; it will not include information on the publications reports available via the Cognos Research dashboard.

  • Elements Essentials: Publications

Do you need to create and claim publication records in Elements either for yourself or on behalf of other members of staff? Are you unclear about the relationship between SRO and Elements? What is an AAM? This workshop will explain the process to create and claim publication records in Elements and deposit records to SRO. Opportunities will be provided for participants to ask questions based on their own experience.

  • Elements Essentials: Research Groups

Research groups and Centres of Excellence can be set up as a group within Elements and staff, publications and other activities linked to the group. This workshop will explain how Elements can be used to bring together research outputs and other activities related to the work of a research group and the reporting / exporting options available.

  • Elements Essentials: REF2029 Assessments

    Thursday 21st November 2024

These Assessment Module workshops run in two parts; please feel free to sign up to one part or both, depending on the session’s relevance to your role.

    For Authors & Reviewers 10:30-11:15

Are you an author or reviewer who has been asked to input output reviews into the Elements Assessment Module? This workshop will provide the guidance you need to select your outputs and input self-reviews (authors) and input your reviews (reviewers).

The sessions for Managers detailed below are scheduled immediately after the Authors & Reviewers sessions, and will continue in the same Zoom meeting, so you do not need to register for both if you intend to attend both on the same day.

    For Managers 11:15-12:00

Are you an Assessment Module Manager for your UoA? This workshop will explain how to manage your UoA’s output selections and reviews, access reporting and complete bulk data uploads.
