Sussex at 60 Global Partnerships Conference 2022

Global Partnerships Conference Advert

Join us online from 21st - 23rd June 2022

As the world continues to navigate the changes that have come about as a result of the pandemic, we are seeing a rise in the use of technology to deliver not just assessment, feedback, and learning outcomes but also other aspects of the student experience. The pandemic has also led to sustained conversations about the importance of incorporating sustainability into every aspect of higher education.

• What disruptions in technology and activities are shaping the future of international education?

•  Are universities mapping partnership activities against the Sustainable Development goals? What are the expected outcomes?

This year we will be pleased to welcome all our partners online as we explore the benefits of digital transformations in higher education and how we can leverage the United Nations Sustainable development goals to improve student outcomes globally.

Discussions will feature case studies and workshops to engage with partners on the skills, knowledge and strategic decisions required as we embrace the digitalisation of higher-education delivery and our ambitions to align international and global engagement activities to the delivery of the SDGs.

This conference is also being delivered in our 60th year and we welcome our partners to celebrate with us.

Covid changed the way we interface with students, and the higher-education sector had to pivot to deliver unique formats to support the student experience. Conflicts and disasters have also continued unabated through the pandemic, with conflicts in Afghanistan and Ukraine receiving global attention and attempts to support displaced students and academics varying per region.

This workshop will explore different approaches that universities and sector organisations have taken to ensure access to higher education for vulnerable communities post covid and in light of current conflicts.

Initiatives to offer campus-based intercultural and international experiences accelerated during the pandemic, offering a response to the disruption brought to traditional student mobility. It is clear that online, virtual and hybrid experiences are here to stay, reshaping what internationalisation experiences we offer to our students. As we move forward, how can we make sure these experiences are meaningful and valuable? How might we innovate? How can we embed them into what we do going forward? This workshop will share highlights from different institutions and discuss ideas for the future.
