Assessment and regulations
- Postgraduate handbook
-
Please follow this link for the Examination & Assessment Handbook for PG Students Electronic copies of the handbook for your course can be found on the handbooks page.
- Submitting coursework and submission deadlines
-
Submission deadlines are available on your assessment timetable.
The Coursework submission page contains full details on how to submit your work. Please read this information carefully.
- Getting your marks
-
Your marks are entered on the University system as soon as they are available, and have been checked.
You should then see them by logging into your account. - Getting feedback
-
Subject to certain conditions, feedback on coursework whether in the form of comments and/or grades, should normally be communicated to you within 15 working days of the submission deadline. Work will either be returned by the tutor in a teaching group or via the Engineering and Informatics School Office, who will send an email when work is available to collect.
Feedback on your progress may take many forms and is not confined to the mark you receive. It may include generic feedback to the class, for example via Canvas, provision of model solutions in lectures and/or on Canvas so that you can check your understanding, and individual comments on your work or on Sussex Direct. It is your responsibility to take note of, and integrate, all of this information. If you require additional feedback on a specific piece of work, you should contact the module convenor in the first instance.
- Official transcripts
-
How do I get my final official transcript, certificate, and a letter saying I have finished?
Official transcripts of marks are mailed out to your home address normally at the end of November. Please check that your address is up to date - it can be changed via your account.
Your degree certificate is supplied to you at the Graduation ceremony in January. If you are unable to attend the ceremony, it will be posted to your home address soon after the ceremony.
If you need a letter stating that you have completed your course of study, please contact the Student Systems and Records Office in Sussex House.
