About IDS Bar and Kitchen
The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a world-leading research, learning and teaching institute based in the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ campus. IDS is an independent not-for-profit charity.
Their restaurant, the IDS Bar and Kitchen, serves fresh and delicious breakfasts, hot lunches, sandwiches and salads (including vegetarian and vegan options) to eat in or take away. They also offer homemade cakes, barista coffees, frappes and have a fully licenced bar.
IDS can host events, open-mic nights, quiz nights and parties in the IDS Bar and Kitchen where there is a music system available. Outdoor catering is also available, including BBQs and giant paella pan events. Find out how to contact the catering team.

Inside
The Bar and Kitchen has a relaxed atmosphere with an urban coffee house vibe, with tables and couches, board games and relaxed music. It has a family atmosphere and is a great place to meet friends, connect and chill out. WiFi and children’s highchairs available.
Outside
There is an outdoor beer garden with tables and parasols. Fancy a picnic? Ask to borrow an IDS picnic basket and blanket.
Menu
A daily changing Ottolenghi-inspired menu featuring international dishes such as Sri Lankan curries, jerk chicken, Middle Eastern, Greek and Asian salads. Vegan and vegetarian options available daily.
Other staples include delicious quiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, baguettes, homemade cakes and tray bakes. Also soups in colder months and cream teas in the summer.
